The treatment
What happens.
You lie on the warm marble slab while the room steams gently. Your attendant pours warm water from a copper bowl, then works over your skin with a kese mitt until the old skin rolls away. That is the part that surprises first-timers. Next comes the foam: olive oil soap from Ayvalık, whipped in a cotton bag until it falls over you like a warm cloud, followed by a slow soap massage. A final cool rinse, a peştamal around your shoulders and linden tea in the rest room finish it.
Swimwear or our disposable briefs are fine. Not advised within 24 hours of shaving or waxing.
